About the Program

What is GoSGV E-Bike Share?

GoSGV E-Bike Share is an affordable e-bike membership program for residents of the San Gabriel Valley. Run by ActiveSGV and the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG), the program provides commuter and cargo e-bikes on a monthly subscription basis.

What cities does GoSGV serve?

GoSGV serves residents across 33 cities in the San Gabriel Valley. Special reduced-rate programs are available for residents of El Monte, Claremont, and select equity cities including Alhambra, Avocado Heights, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, and South El Monte.

Who is eligible to join?

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the San Gabriel Valley. When you apply, you will need to upload two proofs of residency such as a government-issued ID and a utility bill.

Pricing & Membership

How much does a membership cost?

Classic Commuter E-Bike memberships are $69/mo for standard members. Reduced rates include $49/mo for students (18+) and seniors (62+), $29/mo for veterans, $50/mo for Claremont residents, and FREE for El Monte residents. Equity Memberships are $75/yr for Equity Cities residents and $6.26/mo for income-based members. E-Cargo / Family bikes are $149/mo standard, $125/mo for Claremont residents, and $35/mo for Equity members.

What is included with my membership?

Every membership includes a dedicated e-bike, helmet, bike lock, charger, and maintenance support. There are no hidden fees.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. The Classic Commuter E-Bike requires a $125 refundable deposit. Cargo bikes require a $500 deposit ($250 for income-qualifying members). Deposits are returned when the bike is returned in good condition.

What is the Equity Membership?

The Equity Membership offers deeply discounted e-bike access. There are two ways to qualify. The Equity Cities Membership is for residents of Alhambra, Avocado Heights, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, or South El Monte, with no income requirement. Classic Commuter e-bikes are $75 per year and E-Cargo bikes are $35 per month on a 3-month term. The Equity Membership (Income-Based) is for residents of other SGV cities who qualify by income or public assistance such as CalFresh, Medi-Cal, WIC, or CalWORKs. Classic Commuter e-bikes are $6.26 per month and E-Cargo bikes are $35 per month.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Please note that we do not accept American Express.

Bikes & Equipment

What kind of e-bikes does GoSGV offer?

GoSGV currently offers two types: the Classic Commuter E-Bike with a Bosch mid-drive pedal-assist motor, front basket, puncture-resistant tires, and integrated lights (30-40 mile range); and the E-Cargo / Family Bike (Urban Arrow) which carries up to 550 lbs with child seatbelts and a Bosch motor (approximately 30 mile range).

How far can the e-bikes go on a single charge?

The Classic Commuter E-Bike has a range of 30 to 40 miles per charge. The E-Cargo / Family Bike has a range of approximately 30 miles per charge. Actual range depends on terrain, rider weight, and assist level.

Are there accessories available for the cargo bike?

Yes. Cargo bike accessories include a box cover for $10/mo, Rain Cover Plus for $25/mo, and a bike parka for $12/mo.

Getting Started

How do I apply?

Submit an application through our online form. You will need to upload two proofs of SGV residency. Once approved, you will receive confirmation from GoSGV staff and can schedule your bike pickup or delivery.

Can I get my bike delivered?

Yes. Delivery is available for $50. El Monte residents receive free delivery.

Do I need to sign anything?

Yes. All approved participants sign a GoSGV Agreement before e-bike pickup.

Equity Program

What are the evaluation requirements for equity members?

Equity participants complete an intake survey at enrollment, track trips using the NREL OpenPATH app, and complete a post-program survey. These requirements help ensure continued funding for affordable e-bike programs in the SGV.

What public assistance programs qualify me for reduced rates?

You may qualify if you receive CalFresh / SNAP-Ed (EBT), Medi-Cal, WIC, CARE / FERA, CalWORKs, Metro LIFE, or live in affordable housing.

REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE

Where can I get my bike repaired?

GoSGV partners with 12+ local bike shops across the San Gabriel Valley. Your first flat tire repair is free. Other services like brake adjustments ($15), derailleur adjustments ($15), and spoke replacement ($50) are available at fixed prices. Normal wear-and-tear repairs are covered at no charge. Can I take my bike to any shop?

No. Please use one of GoSGV's partner shops. Out-of-network shops will not have the proper tools or parts for your e-bike. Always contact the shop closest to you first. If you have trouble reaching a shop, contact the GoSGV team at (626) 652-2832 or (626) 652-2863, or email info@gosgv.com.

How do I redeem my first flat?

Please email info@gosgv.com to redeem your first flat. You will be directed to the bike shop closest to you.
